EPPD: Woman killed in Loop 375 rollover was speeding, not wearing seat belt
Police identified the woman killed in a rollover on Loop 375 Friday morning as 43-year-old Tessie Mendoza.
The rollover was reported at Loop 375 and Iron Medics shortly after 10 a.m. The southbound lanes, from the site of the wreck to Montana, were are closed until about 2:30 p.m.
Police said Mendoza was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe north on the loop “at a high rate of speed.”
Mendoza lost control of the SUV, which crossed the center media and rolled before coming to a rest on the southbound lanes. Mendoza, not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown out of the vehicle, police said.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to Del Sol Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
