Free pet adoption event this weekend
If you were thinking of adopting a pet, this weekend is the time to do it.
On Aug. 18, El Paso Animal Services at 5001 Fred Wilson Avenue will be offering all of its pets in the shelter for free. It’s part of the national “Clear the Shelters” adoption campaign.
The shelter will be holding the free pet adoption event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The department aims to clear its kennels that day. Last year, more than 230 pets found homes. Pets are available on a first come, first served basis.
Food trucks, pet-related vendors and free adoption goodie bags will be given to the first 50 families who adopt pets. In exchange, El Paso Animal Services welcomes donations of blankets, food and kennels.
