Border Patrol: Chase ends in crash in Sunland Park

Border Patrol says agents were pursuing a car when it crashed into a fire hydrant in Sunland Park.

The crash happened off of Gibson Park Rd., near Sunland Park Drive.

A Border Patrol agent said they had suspects in custody. He did not give any information on where the chase began or the reason for the pursuit.

An ABC-7 crew at the scene saw at least two people in handcuffs, surrounded by agents. Agents were also combing the area while the crew was at the scene.

Fire officials confirmed one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
