Police: Bank worker told boyfriend about customer with $75K in purse; men robbed, assaulted customer

Houston police arrested the woman they say masterminded a cash heist last Friday, August 17th. Surveillance video (shown above) outside a gas station captured two men violently try to snatch a woman’s purse.

The woman had just withdrawn 75-thousand dollars in cash from a bank. A bank worker, identified as Shelby Wise, allegedly tipped off her boyfriend, Travonn Johnson, about the large transaction.

The Houston Chronicle reports the robbery occurred at a Valero gas station five miles away from the bank. He and another man were arrested after allegedly assaulting the woman. They were both denied bond.

Authorities arrested Wyse Thursday and charged her with robbery. Her bond was ironically set at $75,000.

The victim and her husband were both run over by the getaway car. She remains in critical condition.
