Vado teen caught in the middle of attempted burglary

A teenager was caught in the act of burglarizing a home Wednesday, with stolen items in his pockets, according to authorities.

18-year-old Gerald Rickman reportedly had an iPod, a watch and two memory sticks in his pockets and was wearing a bandana and snowboarding gloves all belonging to the victims when he was caught. Authorities say the two men who lived at the home saw Rickman in their living room when they returned home with their girlfriends.

One of the men tried to detain Rickman, who reportedly got aggressive, according to Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies booked Rickman into jail without bond on charges of breaking and entering and burglary, both felony offenses, and one misdemeanor count of assault.
