EPISD school employee struck by hit-and-run driver; drove herself to hospital

El Paso Independent School District police are investigating an apparent hit-and-run incident at Carlos Rivera Elementary School.

EPISD Spokesman Gustavo Reveles told ABC-7 a driver struck an EPISD employee around 8:15 Thursday morning, then drove away.

Reveles says the crash happened on Escondido drive in front of the school, located at 6445 Escondido Drive.

The spokesman said the employee drove herself to the hospital for evaluation. The district did not identify the employee or reveal her position with the school.
