Cruz reacts to O’Rourke’s impeachment statements during CNN’s Town Hall
CNN hosted Beto O’Rourke at a Town Hall event Thursday night in which he indicated he would vote to impeach President Trump.
Ted Cruz responded on Twitter late Thursday night, tweeting “Would 2 years of impeachment madness – a partisan circus that would paralyze the federal govt – be good for Texans? I say NO. Beto (the only Dem Senate nominee in the country willing to do so) says YES, impeach President Trump. Listen, in his own words, and you decide.”

O’Rourke was asked if he would start the impeachment process against President Trump if he was elected to the Senate.
“I would liken an impeachment to an indictment,” O’Rourke said. “There is enough there to precede with the trial for full vetting of the facts and to make the best informed decision in the interest of this country and our future.”
And his reason – Russian collusion.
“When we saw [Trump] on that stage in Helsinki, defending Vladimir Putin, the head of the country that attacked our democracy in 2016, instead of this country and its citizens and this amazing democracy, that was collusion in action,” he said.
Early voting starts next week and Election Day is on Nov. 6.
Cruz currently leads O’Rourke 52% to 45% among likely voters according to CNN’s latest poll.
