Possible medical negligence investigated at Juarez plastic surgery clinic

The investigation intensifies into possible medical negligence at a plastic surgery clinic in Juarez.

According to XHIJ channel 44, ABC-7’s news partners in Juarez, the state of Chihuahua is gathering evidence at the Rinocenter plastic surgery clinic, where former El Pasoan Laura Avila slipped into a coma.

Her family said she died on Saturday, Nov. 24.

As ABC-7 reported, Avila went in for a nose job on October 30th.

Her family says the anesthesia injected into her spine went to her brain.

XHIJ is reporting that investigators seized the medical files on Avila’s case when they searched the clinic weeks ago.

They have conducted four interviews and expect to do three more, and have even hired a doctor to help review whether proper procedures were followed, according to XHIJ.
