Local soccer camp to give girls chance to play at next level

The West Texas ID Camp is returning for another year this Saturday.

The annual soccer camp gives girls a chance to be seen by various colleges including New Mexico State, Abilene Christian, Louisiana Tech, Eastern New Mexico University, and many more.

The camp costs $80 per participant and is open to those in grades 9-12.

Players will begin check-in at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Westside Sports Complex at 201 Isela Rubalcava Boulevard and compete through 5:30 p.m. The event ends with the presentation of a $3,000 scholarship.

Lunch will be provided from noon to 1:30 for players and coaches.

Players will participate in individual technical training before lunch and then compete in game rotations during the afternoon.
