Results from the first day or Early National Signing Day

Star recruits from all over the country are deciding who they plan on making better. That includes athletes right here in the Borderland.

In a surprise move, star stud wide receiver out of Parkland High School Khatib Lyles is going to North Texas. he had expressed interest in UTEP and Texas Tech. I know Coach Dimel is not going to be excited to see him across the field from the Miners.

Coach will be ok iI think because 3 star quarterback out of Cypruss Falls High School, T.J. Goodwin will be a Miner next fall.

Lets take a deeper dive at todays signing day.

The UTEP football team announced today that they wont recognize their final signing class until February 9th.

24/7 Sports reports the Miners have 11 commitments so far, three of which have signed. Four of those 11 are three star recruits. T.J. Goodwin is one those three star recruits that has signed. That ranks the Miners 127th in the nation.

Compared to NMSU who is ranked 117th with 15 players who have actually signed with the university. Five of those 15 who have signed are three star recruits.

Oklahoma came in at 6th with 22 commitments, two five stars, 12 four stars, and eight, three stars.

The university of Texas is ranked at nine with 22 commitments as well. No five stars, 13 four stars, and three, three stars.
