Blood drives set up to help Borderland people and pets

Vitalant scheduled a blood drive fundraiser at the Humane Society of El Paso to raise funds that will help provide daily needs to the animals under its care.

For every three donors that the HSEP blood drive receives, 10 lives will be saved.

The blood drive will take place on Friday, December 21, from 3- 6 p.m. and on Saturday, December 22, from 2- 5 p.m. in the shelter parking lot, 4991 Fred Wilson Ave.

Donors will receive a holiday blood donor t-shirt and will be entered to win a pet goody basket.

On Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Santa will be available to take photos in the lobby at the shelter.

All pet adoptions will be free.

For more information on the blood drive or to schedule a donation, call 877-258-4825.
