ABC-7 XTRA Examines Beto O’Rourke’s Democratic presidential nomination bid
Beto O’Rourke’s run for the democratic presidential nomination captured the attention of Sunday morning talk shows.
Much of the attention is centered on the relatively unknown former Texas Congressman who made history by coming close to beating well known republican Senator, Ted Cruz.
O’Rourke failed, but launched his presidential bid Thursday, and in the process becoming the first serious El Paso presidential candidate.
The 46 year old El Paso native joins more than a dozen candidates already seeking the nomination.
Former Vice-President, Joe Bidden, hinted he too may join the already crowded list of democrats looking to unseat president Donald Trump.
Sunday on ABC 7 Xtra, host Saul Saenz sat down with UTEP communications professor, Dr. Richard Pineda with the Sam Donaldson school of journalism, and Texas Tribune reporter, Julian Aguilar.
Among the questions panelists will answer is, can O’Rourke beat the field of democratic contenders and win the nomination? Also, what will O’Rourke’s run mean for El Paso?
