Police investigating deadly crash involving Go-Kart in East El Paso

The El Paso Police Department confirmed a crash involving a Go Kart Sunday evening has turned deadly.

Special traffic investigators were called out to a crash at the intersection of Bob Stone and Dave Hill Drives in East El Paso.

It happened at 6:45 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that 20-year-old Michael Jefferson was driving the Go Kart south on David Hill. Police said 11-year-old Jayden Jefferson was the passenger in the Go Kart. Jefferson’s family has set up a Go Fund Me account to help raise money for funeral expenses.

Police said the Go Cart failed to yield the right of way and collided with a Nissan Sentra driven by 26-year-old Ana Marie La Bianca.

Police said Jayden Jefferson was ejected from the Go Kart, and taken to the hospital where he died.

No charges have been filed, and police said the investigation is still on-going .
