EPISD reassigns three principals, coach and counselor

The El Paso Independent School District confirmed Tuesday three principals, an assistant principal, a counselor and a coach were all removed from their positions on March 15.

At Burges High School, Principal Randall Woods and Assistant Principal Michael Paulino were placed on administrative leave. Counselor Susan Elias and soccer coach Garry Grammer were reassigned.

At Jefferson High School, Principal Fred Rojas was reassigned due to a personnel matter.

At Terrace Hills Middle School, Principal Darren Cole was reassigned.

EPISD spokeswoman Melissa Martinez said all reassignments are unrelated.

Interims have been assigned to each position.

Norma De La Rosa, with the El Paso Teachers Association, told ABC-7 she doesn’t know why these moves were made. ” There is that confidentially that needs to be maintained in order for it to be a fair and unbiased process, ” said De La Rosa.
