Pedestrian struck by train in Upper Valley dies

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly train collision.

A spokeswoman confirmed with ABC-7 that a pedestrian was struck and killed early Tuesday morning on Doniphan Dr. near Spur 16.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the train involved in this crash is a BNSF Railway train, and members from that company are at the scene.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office did not specify if the victim was a man or a woman.

Drivers should avoid the area if possible.
