The Beto O’Rourke rally affects business owners in unexpected ways
The planned Beto O’Rourke rally in downtown El Paso creates hurdles for local business owners.
With an estimated crowd in the thousands it is thought that the store owners would be ecstatic about the over whelming foot traffic.
That may be true for some store owners but the ones on South El Paso street may disagree.
Rosamaria Navar an employee with Bella Boutique on South El Paso Street said, ” I think this rally will 100% affect us because the weekends are the days when our business is the busiest. ”
A shop keeper explained that 70% of the people who enter their stores do not make a single purchase.
Other business owners around El Paso have a different take on the bonus exposure.
Co-founder of the Central Business Association, Tanny Berg believes the rally will help the area by putting it in on a national stage.
” Coming down for the Beto rally, supporting this candidate for president in El Paso, and seeing what exists downtown may make a big difference to where people shop in the future. That’s what we’re really looking for. ” Said Berg.
