Area round of the UIL Baseball Tournament

There were multiple teams competing in the UIL State Baseball Tournament out of El Paso and the surrounding area.

Montwood advanced past LD Bell on the back of ace pitcher Alizeah Gutierrez who struck out the final batter to win 4-3. They will play Odessa High next week for regionals.

The Bel Air Highlanders also won beating Wylie 4 to 3 in two games. The Highlanders will play Amarillo High next week.

The Eastlake Falcons lost their series to Lubbock Coronado ending their season.

The Horizon Scropions were knocked out of the tournament losing their last game to the Sandies 7 to 3.

Ysleta took on Lubbock Monterey but lost the series concluding their season.

The Clint Lions dropped their series to Lubbock Estacado as well.
