El Paso’s Pellicano Drive closure will now include Sun Fire Blvd.
EL PASO, Texas -- Sun Fire Boulevard will be closing down at the intersection of Pellicano Drive for the coming weeks. El Paso County’s Planning and Development Transportation Division will continue their work to expand those roads as the city continues to grow.
While the city plans on making improvements to the roadway, drivers are running out of patience.
"Its terrible, there's even some stops signs in the area, and theres no way for cars to go through yet we still have to go through them," an area resident said.
For drivers who live in the area they will now have to find an alternate route to and from work, something neighbors are already dreading.
"I'm very angry because I live off of Sun Fire so that means we have to go to Vista del Sol its going to get clustered there people are going to be late to work, now I am going to have to drop off my grandson, I got to get up two hours early to take him to school its terrible," one resident said.
The road closure at Sun Fire went into effect Friday afternoon, and will be in place for the following weeks. No specific date for the road to reopen has been given by the county.
