Borderland school watch: What’s returning, delayed as weather subsides

WHAT'S DELAYED FRIDAY (02/04)
- EPISD - 2 Hour delayed start (02/04)
- EPISD - All student-centered services, including classes and bus services, will be on a two-hour delay from normal start times for students. (02/04)
- SISD - 2-Hour delayed start (02/04)
- SISD - Transportation will be provided two hours from normal pick up times (02/04)
- SISD - Breakfast service will be provided per the two-hour delay (02/04)
- YISD - 2-Hour delayed start (02/04)
- YISD - Buses will pick up at the designated bus stop two hours from the original pick-up time. Meals will be provided to all students attending campus for classes.
- Anthony ISD - 2-Hour delayed start schedule for Friday, (02/04).
- Anthony ISD - Anthony Elementary School will begin classes at 9:30 a.m. Anthony Middle School and Anthony High School will begin classes at 10:20 a.m. The district's bus routes will also operate based on a two-hour delay.
- Canutillo ISD schools, offices and facilities will be on a two-hour delayed start (02/04).
- Canutillo ISD: Buses will run on a two-hour delayed start from the normal pick-up time. Breakfast will not be served due to the delay but can be provided before class to students who require it. Lunch will be provided to students at their regular designated lunchtimes.
- El Paso Catholic Schools on a 2-Hour delay (02/04)
- Fr. Yermo to conduct classes virtually (02/04)
- All IDEA Public Schools in the El Paso Region will HAVE A DELAYED START on Friday, (02/04) until 9:30 a.m. All students should arrive to school by 9:30 am; transportation services will be adjusted and shared by the campus transportation manager.
- Fabens ISD 2-Hour delay (0204)
- Fabens elementary and O'Donnell Intermediate will start at 10 a.m.
- Fabens Middle School and Fabens High School will start at 10:30 a.m.
- Fabens ISD: Transportation will be provided two hours from normal pick-up times. Breakfast service will be provided.
- Clint ISD: CISD will be operating school buses and instruction on a 2-hour delayed schedule for Friday,(02/04). Buses will pick up students 2 hours after their regularly scheduled pick up time. However, all school buildings will open by 8:00 a.m. to accommodate families who have to drop off their children at school earlier. Breakfast and lunch will be served to all students.

WHAT'S THE REGULAR START TIME FRIDAY (02/04)
- EPISD - To help prepare campuses for instruction and welcome students safely, essential administrative and support personnel in EPISD will have regular start time. Supervisors will communicate schedules for Friday to employees on Thursday (02/03).
- LCPS - All classes return to in-person instruction (02/04)
- LCPS - Busses will run on regular schedules, but students are reminded to dress warmly, as morning temperatures will be below freezing. Schools will have cafeterias, gyms and classrooms open for students as they arrive.
- Canutillo ISD: Essential personnel will report to work at their regular scheduled times, while all other staff will report two hours later than their usual start time. Supervisors and campus administration will provide their staff with pertinent information.
- El Paso Catholic Schools - All afternoon activities will proceed as scheduled.
- The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Foster School of Medicine, Hunt School of Nursing, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Hunt School of Dental Medicine students, faculty and staff will report for in-person learning at their normally scheduled times on Friday, Feb. 4.
- All Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso clinics will open at their normally scheduled times (02/04).
WHAT'S CANCELED FRIDAY (02/04)
- SISD - Morning three year old classes and curbside meal services are canceled for the day (02/04)
- GISD - Remains on remote learning (02/04)
WHAT'S RESCHEDULED AS OF (02/03)
- LCPS: Middle school boys’ basketball games scheduled for Thursday will be played Monday, Feb. 7
- LCPS: Thursday’s Las Cruces/Centennial wrestling dual has been rescheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Las Cruces High School
- LCPS: Organ Mountain boys' and girls' basketball games scheduled for Friday will be held Saturday night at 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m. at Gadsden (boys) and Organ Mountain (girls)

- UTEP: In addition to previously announced adjustments, all on-campus COVID-19 testing, including the city’s mega drive-up testing site at 3333 N. Mesa, will be closed Feb. 3.
- San Elizario Independent School District: All schools and administrative offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3. All district athletics and extracurricular activities will also be canceled.
- All IDEA Public Schools in El Paso will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 3, and will re-open and operate on a normal schedule on Friday, Feb. 4.
- El Paso Catholic schools classes are cancelled for Thursday, Feb. 3. All after school and extra curricular activities will be cancelled tomorrow as well.
- Harmony Public Schools in West Texas closed Thursday, Feb. 3.
- Tornillo Independent School District all schools, administrative offices, and extra-curricular activities in the will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 3
- Burnham Wood Charter School District and Vista Del Futuro Charter School District will be closed Thursday, Feb. 3. Schools will not be open. Classes will resume Friday, Feb. 4.
WHAT'S CLOSED
- Las Cruces Public Schools Testing Locations Closed: School buildings that were open as COVID-19 testing sites with Premier Medical Group and Curative will also be closed Thursday. Feb. 3
- YISD schools, administrative offices closed, Thursday, Feb. 3
- Fabens ISD schools and offices will be closed Thursday, February 3rd.
- YWCA gyms, Academies for Early Learning, After School Programs, and LIFT program will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 3. YWCA administration offices will open at 11 am. Depending on weather and road conditions, the offices may remain closed.
WHAT'S REMOTE
- Las Cruces Public Schools - All classes shift to remote learning Thursday, Feb. 3.

- UTEP: all activities at during the workday Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, move to remote operations

WHAT'S DELAYED
- Las Cruces Public Schools: An in-person campus visit for fifth graders going into sixth grade at Camino Real Middle School, originally scheduled for Thursday night, has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 7 from 5 to 6 p.m.
- UTEP’s Spring Career Fair will still take place with a modified schedule of 12-5 p.m.
- Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Foster School of Medicine, Hunt School of Nursing, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Hunt School of Dental medicine will delay opening on Thursday, Feb. 3. Staggered schedules have been communicated with the respective schools’ students, faculty and staff.
- NMSU will be delayed until 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3.
- DACC will be delayed until 11 a.m. Thursday, Fef. 3.
All Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso clinics will open at 10 a.m. Those seeking immediate medical attention are advised to call 911.
