Protecting Halloween decorations from winds
EL PASO, Texas -- Winds moving across the borderland have spelled trouble for some residents with Halloween decorations - but they're not letting the gusts keep them from celebrating spooky season.
They’re tying down their decorations and even putting bags of sand on the foot of them to keep it from falling over.
But for some people, the wind got the best of their decorations.
Irvin Aldama says he had take them apart in order to keep it from flying away.
He even laid the 150 pound decoration on the ground once they knew the winds were coming.
It took some time, but they say it was worth it.
“It takes about an hour to put them back up, but it's worth it seeing people's reaction… not a lot of people decorate like this in El Paso,” Aldama said.
