Some migrants downtown admit to crossing over illegally despite warnings from Border Patrol

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Days before the expected lifting of Title 42, hundreds of migrants are already camping at Sacred Heart Church. ABC-7 talked to some migrants who said they were forced to cross over illegally after they were forced to wait in Mexico.

Some migrants said they had been waiting in Ciudad Juarez for months.

Rafael Garcia, the father of Sacred Heart Church, told ABC-7 on Thursday the large group of migrants arrived Tueday.

However, he said he didn't know how they got to the church.

One migrant didn't want to reveal how he got across because he said more are continuing to use it to cross over daily.

Another migrant said she had no other choice but to cross over illegally because she and her family faced dangers in Mexico.

El Paso Sector Border Patrol agents said provisional releases are not happening at this time.

A spokesperson told ABC-7, they process every migrant that comes into their custody. Agents said they are still expelling migrants under Title 42.
