El Paso ISD selected for world-class leadership program

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Independent School District is one of seven districts selected throughout the state to increase principal ranks with Holdsworth’s World-Class leadership development program.

"Our vision is to inspire and empower and so it takes leadership to do that," said  Diana Sayavedra Superintendent for EPISD.

El Paso ISD was selected after demonstrating a strong commitment to developing leaders and a growth mindset around learning new concepts.

"We went through a rigorous application process. And we're so honored and privileged to be chosen because it's really going to help us build leadership capacity throughout the organization," said Sayavedra.

Holdsworth’s world-class leadership development program will help to build stronger principals, helping EPISD create its own best-in-class principal pipeline system for its students.

"I know how important it is to build a systemic leadership pipeline," said Sayavedra, "We know that building high-quality leaders from within is going to be the direction we need to go to build the capacity of our leaders," Sayavedra.

The leadership program training will take place over four years utilizing lead self, lead team.

"So the principal goes. Through leadership along with a small core group Leadership team as we go through. So by the fourth year, you know, we've trained leaders throughout the system," said Sayavedra.
