Three people dead following a shooting involving motorcycle gangs in New Mexico
RED RIVER, New Mexico (KVIA) -- New Mexico State Police confirm three people have died and another five are recovering following a shooting in Red River.
The Investigations Bureau was called out to investigate the shooting that broke put around 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived on the scene they discovered two people dead and six others injured. One of the wounded was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Another person was airlifted to Denver.
Agents learned a fight broke out between outlaw motorcycle gang members. All eight individuals were identified as members.
Jacob David Castillo, 30, of Rio Rancho, NM was charged with an Open Count of Murder. Castillo was injured as a result and was taken to the hospital. Upon his release, he'll be booked into the Taos County Detention Center.
One person who was injured was arrested on unrelated charges.
39-year-old Mathew Charles Jackson was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm in a Liquor Establishment and booked into the Taos County Detention Center.
The remaining four injured individuals, 53, 31, and 43-year-old males have not yet been charged with a crime. They have not been identified and their condition are not known at this time.
NMSP continue to investigate the the shooting.
