Juarez officials shelter migrants waiting to cross border into U.S.

JUAREZ, Chihuahua (KVIA) -- A week after the city of Juarez set up a new migrant camp, some migrants are still staying in this new facility located a few feet away from the Stanton Port of Entry.

Last week, Juarez officials reported over 240 migrants stayed at the camp in the first days and only migrants who were camping outside of Juarez's city hall would be allowed at this new camp.

ABC-7 reached out to the city's Human Rights Department for more updates on the camp and the issues they have noticed since the new camp opened on May 22. Watch ABC-7 tonight for more information.
