El Paso attorney gives $58,000 to St. Matthews Catholic School

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The season of giving came early for students at St. Matthews Catholic School.

Attorney Daniel Anchondo, his wife Martha Anchondo, and their son Chris Anchondo made a $58,000 donation to the school Friday, Dec. 8 at around 10 a.m.

The family also announced their intention to continue to invest in the school and to help establish a financial aid fund for students.

"We came from a very poor neighborhood," Daniel Anchondo said. "This is great giving back to a place that you grew up and you know that these kids really need help, especially from what we heard. And I think it's just right that we give back to those that gave to us and help them better themselves so that they can be in a better position and help their parents and help their brothers sisters."
