PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) — Hakeem Jeffries has said this election is about the economy, and stopping Project 2025 and MAGA extremes. And after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, he says it’s about democracy. Jeffries has logged 25,000 miles in 30 states trying to win the majority for Democrats. He is part of a new generation of leaders, taking over after Nancy Pelosi stepped aside.
