Las Cruces, NEW MEXICO (KVIA) -- Casa de Peregrinos (CdP) is set to announce a $37,000 gift from a Las Cruces Walmart. CdP says this will help to support the ongoing efforts of their fight against hunger in Las Cruces and Doña Ana County. It will happen Thursday, January 16th, 2025 at 3:00 p.m.

“We are grateful for the partnership with our friends at Walmart and for the collaborative effort to help our neighbors though difficult times in our community,” said CdP’s Executive Director Lorenzo Alba, Jr. “Thank you Walmart for believing in our mission and blessing us with this significant gift that will help us as we approach this new year with excitement about our growth and mission improvements,” added Alba.

Casa de Peregrinos (CdP) states they are New Mexico’s largest and longest running food pantry serving the Las Cruces and Doña Ana County region. Adding that they have distributed an average of 4.4 million meals every year though various programs and their outreach efforts.

"At Walmart, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. Supporting Casa de Peregrinos aligns with our commitment to fight hunger and ensure that families have access to nutritious food.
