EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)-- ABC-7 has obtained new video showing the aftermath of the Sun Metro explosion that occurred at the maintenance facility on February 11. Two Sun Metro employees died from their injuries sustained in the explosion.

"The east side of the maintenance building will have to be demolished,"  said Sun Metro Director Anthony DeKeyzer in a Mass Transit Board Meeting on April 25.

Deputy City Manager Nicole Cote tells ABC-7 that the Fire Marshall is taking the lead on the investigation. While working with the demolition team, structural engineers, and the company that's shoring the site.

"We have full confidence in the fire marshal's office and their full investigation. Along with a demolition team, structural engineers, the company that's shoring it. Also the other interested parties as well," says Cote.

Cote says the scene needed to be preserved to allow other interested parties into the investigation.

When it comes to a rebuild Cote says that there is no timeframe, as the investigation still needs to be completed.

Cote tells ABC-7 that the city is working with their insurance to figure out how much money they owe.

"Because it was, as you saw, a total loss, though, there's no bus left. And so we're going to continue to work with them to identify what's covered and how that'll be covered," says Cote.
