ABC-7 FIRST ALERT: Monsoonal moisture lingers in for Labor day.

Storm chances return to the Borderland this afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will first form over the mountains, then some may drift into the lowlands.

Heavy rain, gusty winds, and localized flooding are possible. Highs will be in the low to mid-90s, cooling off where storms develop.

The pattern lingers into Monday before drier, warmer weather arrives midweek.
