SWAT team raids home in far east El Paso, makes gang-related arrest
EL PASO, Texas -- A police standoff came to an end Thursday afternoon in a far east El Paso neighborhood with a SWAT team storming a house and making a gang-related arrest.
El Paso police had summoned their SWAT team around 1:30 p.m. to assist gang unit officers who were serving a warrant in the 4100 block of Tierra Bronce Drive.
About an hour later, the SWAT team entered the home and ended the standoff. Police announced one arrest had been made, but did not immediately release the man's identity or charges.
Texas Department of Public Safety also provided assistance, including helicopter support, during the incident.
