1 hurt, 1 arrested after east El Paso fight between neighbors ends in stabbing

UPDATE: EL PASO, Texas — One man was hospitalized and another was behind bars Tuesday following a fight between east El Paso neighbors that ended in a stabbing.

The incident in the 3800 block of Leticia stemmed from what police described as an "ongoing dispute between neighbors."

27–year-old Julio Eduardo Munoz was hospitalized in serious condition after being slashed with a knife across his face and back, police said.

Meanwhile, 36–year-old Sergio Alamo was being held in the downtown jail on $50,000 bond on a charge of aggravated assault. No mugshot was immediately for release.

ORIGINAL REPORT: EL PASO, Texas -- An east El Paso fight early Tuesday ended in a stabbing, with the victim seriously wounded.

The incident was reported around 1 a.m. by police in the 3800 block of Leticia.

Officers responding to word of a fight at that location found the stabbing victim.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries.

There was no immediate word as to what triggered the fight or whether any arrests had been made.
