Motorcyclist was speeding when he hit the back of a car and died, police say

Update (September 27, 2024): Police say 39-year-old Santa Teresa resident Alex Cole Bustamante died in the crash.

Special Traffic Investigators are still looking into the crash. Police say Bustamante was speeding on his motorcycle behind a Chevrolet Tahoe. The Tahoe tried to get out of Bustamante's way by getting in the next lane, but investigators say Bustamante still hit the back of the Tahoe. He flew off the motorcycle and emergency crews rushed him to the hospital where he died.

Police say this is the 46th traffic fatality this year, compared with 55 this time last year.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - El Paso Police confirm one person has died due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening.

The crash was reported just after 6:30 p.m. at Gateway East and Radford in Central El Paso.

Special Traffic Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.

TxDOT reports two lanes are currently blocked at Gateway East and Radford as is the Raynolds exit off I-10 East to allow for the investigation.
