Fire ruled unintentional, residents with no power, gas trying to stay warm

UPDATE: El Paso Fire says the fire has been ruled unintentional.

The fire was caused by residents of the home who were trying to stay warm. They had no power or gas service.

The building department was alerted for follow up.

Update: The fire happened at 2:45 PM at an apartment on the 100 block of South Stevens. 21 firefighters responded to the call, according to officials.

Crews pulled on person to safety who was uninjured.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Fire Marshals are on the scene of a fire in South-Central El Paso.

ABC-7 was at the scene and captured video of the fire crews putting out the blaze and the Fire Marshals walking around.

This is happening at the corner of Stevens Street and Frutas Avenue.
