LAS CRUCES, New Mexico (KVIA) -- El Pasoan Jeffery Christopher Saint Louis, 28, pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking charges, federal prosecutors announced this morning.

Officers arrested Saint Louis on November 8, 2023. Court documents state that agents discovered nearly 10 kilograms of pure methamphetamine in Saint Louis' car after a high-speed chase that ended in a head-on crash with a motorcyclist. Prosecutors say Saint Louis was attempting to evade a Border Patrol checkpoint in Otero County when the chase and crash happened.

"In his plea agreement, Saint Louis acknowledged that he was aware of the methamphetamine in his vehicle and admitted that it was his intention to distribute the drugs to other individuals," a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Mexico's Office explained today.

Saint Louis will face no less than ten years and no more than life in prison at sentencing.
