Police arrest 20-year-old woman accused of killing man in a wheelchair
Update (April 22, 2025): El Paso Police just announced the arrest of Evany Rangel, 20, and charged her with collision involving death. They arrested her yesterday and booked her into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a $100,000 bond.

Special Traffic Investigators found Rangel's car on April 4, 2025, which she had driven off in after allegedly hitting Garcia, police officials say.
(ORIGINAL STORY: March 28, 2025) EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso police say Jesus Flores Garcia, 59, is dead after he was hit by an unknown car while traveling in his wheelchair down Zaragoza.
The collision happened at 2:22 AM on March 23, 2025 on the 1700 block of Zaragoza, police officials say.
Police say the unknown car drove off after hitting Garcia. Police know only that the car was a dark-colored sedan.
Emergency crews rushed Garcia to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
