Driver killed in crash on Horizon Boulevard identified

Update (May 28, 2025): The El Paso County Sheriff's Office Special Traffic Investigations Unit has taken over the investigation into the crash.

"Preliminary findings indicate that a white Kia was traveling south on Horizon Boulevard when the driver began changing lanes erratically, lost control, and crossed the raised median into the northbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with a white Ford pickup truck," a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office explained.

Marco Jimenez, 47, identified as the Kia driver, died at the hospital from injuries he sustained in the crash. Emergency crews rushed the Ford pickup truck driver to the hospital with minor injuries.

HORIZON, Texas (KVIA) -- All lanes of Horizon Boulevard are closed currently due to a crash.

This is happening near the intersection of Horizon and Stockyard Road.

The crash happened at 5:17 PM in the southbound lanes of Horizon Boulevard.
