Semi-truck driver killed in crash on I-10 at Schuster identified; all lanes back open

Update (4:40 PM): El Paso Police just identified the person who died in this morning's semi-truck crash on I-10 at Schuster at Colorado resident Mohamed Ali Mumin, 37.

Special Traffic Investigators say the crash happened at 1:30 AM. Investigators say Mumin drifted into the right shoulder and hit the guardrail for unknown reasons. The semi hit a cement pillar of the overpass. Mumin died at the hospital.


Update (4:30 PM): All lanes of I-10 East are now back open, according to El Paso Police.


Update: El Paso Fire Department confirms the driver has been transported with serious injuries.

Special Traffic Investigators report that the call came in at 1:30 a.m.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso Police are on the scene of a crash on I-10 East at Schuster. An Amazon semi-truck crashed into a support beam of the Spur 1966 bridge.

All lanes are currently closed. ABC-7 has a crew going to the scene.
