‘Trespasser’ killed by train in South-Central El Paso

Update (6:08 PM): Union Pacific says that a person was on the tracks near North Clark Drive and El Paso Drive. The person, who Union Pacific refers to as a "trespasser," was hit by the train.

Union Pacific provided ABC-7 with the following statement addressing the incident:

"Approximately 4 p.m. CT Wednesday, a person was on the tracks near North Clark Drive and El Paso Drive in El Paso, Texas, when they were struck by a train. The train crew was not hurt, but the trespasser died at the scene. We are working with local authorities on the investigation."

Update (5:36 PM): El Paso Police officials say that a man is dead at the scene.

Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A train hit a person in South-Central El Paso this afternoon.

The call came in at 2:23 p.m. and police first alerted the public to the crash at 3:12 p.m. Wednesday.

This happened on 201 North Clark Drive, a few blocks north of Alameda Avenue near Fox Plaza.
