Tentative deal is close with Las Vegas hotel workers union amid strike threat, says MGM’s CEO

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The CEO of MGM Resorts International said in an earnings call that he believed contract negotiations underway Wednesday would lead to a tentative agreement with the Culinary Workers Union. Experts say a deal between the hotel workers union and the Strip’s largest employer would almost certainly avert a strike on Friday. The experts say that’s thanks in part to the union’s breakthrough deal with Caesars Entertainment for 10,000 workers that was announced at dawn Wednesday. A strike could still happen if a deal with MGM resorts falls through and a deal isn’t reached Thursday with Wynn Resorts.
