West El Paso indoor theme park in former ‘Toys R Us’ location ready to re-open
EL PASO, Texas-- After a tumultuous start renovating the old 'Toys-R-Us' building on Mesa Hills in west El Paso near the Sunland Park Mall, Urban Air finally opened its doors to the public back in February.
Owner Victor Torres, who lives in San Antonio now, invested savings along with friends to bring the indoor theme park to El Paso.
Finally after getting the building up to code and ready for the public to enjoy, the pandemic hit forcing Urban Air to shut down after only 3 weeks of operations.
With Texas Gov. Greg Abbott allowing the re-opening of businesses throughout the state, including amusement facilities as of this weekend, Urban Air says it is ready to welcome back people of the Borderland looking for entertainment and recreation options.
The facility is packed with all types of rides and attractions for kids and adults. An indoor wall to climb, trampoline dodge ball and even laser tag - just to name just a few.
It also has a cafe and can serve beer and wine for adults.
"I just wanted to bring something that was family friendly to El Paso. Something that includes the whole family. Kids can come and play and the adults can come and hang out," Torres has said.
