10 men from El Paso & Las Cruces arrested in prostitution sting

EL PASO, Texas -- Texas Department of Public Safety special agents arrested ten men in a prostitution sting in the El Paso area last week, officials said Tuesday.

The men arrested are all accused of soliciting sex acts from either children or adults, either in-person or online, a DPS statement said.

The sting operation was part of a DPS Criminal Investigations Division effort targeting human trafficking.

Those arrested were booked in the El Paso County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • Alejandro Junior Bustamante, 24, of El Paso, Texas (prostitution)
  • Michael Sun Hwang, 30, of El Paso, Texas (online solicitation of a minor)
  • William Tyler Andrews, 20, of El Paso, Texas (online solicitation of a minor)
  • Jose Luis Mora, 55, of El Paso, Texas (prostitution)
  • Edward Spencer Manuel III, 45, of El Paso, Texas (prostitution)
  • Albert Lee Sandoval, 61, of Las Cruces, New Mexico (prostitution)
  • Darin Andrew Roberts, 48, of El Paso, Texas (prostitution)
  • Michael Anthony Brown, 38, of El Paso, Texas (prostitution)
  • Gregory Prado, 26, of El Paso, Texas (prostitution)
  • Gerardo R. Chavez, 47, of El Paso, Texas (prostitution)

As noted above, DPS officials indicated 9 of those men charged are from El Paso, the tenth is from Las Cruces.
