UPDATE (April 6, 2026) -- El Paso Police identified the woman punched in the video as Kelcee Hufford, according to documents obtained by ABC-7. They detail the moment officers went to an apartment in South-Central El Paso after a family violence assault report March 31.

Documents say Hufford's roommate said Hufford assaulted her after a financial dispute. This incident led to a warrant for her arrest.

The two bumped into each other in the apartment hallway. According to documents, Hufford became hostile and started yelling after her roommate said "excuse me." The roommate's boyfriend heard the yelling and spoke to Hufford about the living arrangement and Hufford's obligation to pay rent, documents said.

The roommate told Hufford to leave the apartment. Documents said the roommate's boyfriend told the roommate to call 911 after Hufford "became increasingly upset and continued to escalate verbally."

The roommate said Hufford hit her face while Hufford was walking toward the front door. The roommate's boyfriend said he saw Hufford hit the roommate with a closed fist.

Documents say the roommate pushed Hufford in self-defense, then the roommate's boyfriend restrained Hufford. He said Hufford's girlfriend arrived and tried to calm her down. After the roommate's boyfriend let Hufford go, Hufford grabbed and pulled on the roommate's hair, and hit her between the shoulder blades documents said.

ABC-7 obtained documents detailing the arrest on April 1, which is shown in the viral video. Documents said she allegedly refused to comply with officers.

Officers attempted to find Hufford, who had an active arrest warrant, at a house in Central El Paso, documents said. Officers asked whether a 911 call had been made in an attempt to deceive Hufford to the door. The co-defendant (not identified in documents) said Hufford was inside.

One of the officers told the co-defendant Hufford would be arrested due to her active warrant. The co-defendant then tried to close the door, documents said. The officer used his foot to keep the door open because he believed the co-defendant was attempting to conceal Hufford.

Documents said Hufford approached the door and the officer grabbed her to prevent her from fleeing. While the officer pulled her outside, Hufford pulled her arm back, causing the officer to lose his balance. Hufford moved to a different room while the officer deployed his taser, documents said.

The officer's taser didn't work on Hufford. He said, "You have a warrant for your arrest! Stop fighting!"

The officer tried to place her in handcuffs, and Hufford dropped her weight, causing the officer to lose his balance again, according to documents.

The officer was able to secure one handcuff on Hufford. He said twice, "You have a warrant for your arrest! Stop fighting!"

Documents said Hufford pushed the officer with her leg. Officers attempted to bring Hufford to her feet, but she dropped her weight again, making him lose his balance again.

The documents did not mention the officer punching Hufford.
