WATCH: Bodycam video of man charged for evading arrest

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies charged a 31-year-old man for evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance, EPCSO said Wednesday.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Tierra Este Road and Tierra Arena Drive. The driver drove away at a slow speed before coming to a stop. Deputies ordered the driver to get out of the SUV. The driver suddenly accelerated and left the scene.

Deputies identified the SUV's license plate and the driver as Jesus Beltran. Later, deputies found the SUV in Socorro with the help of Socorro police and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Law enforcement found Beltran inside a house on the 10400 block of Tierra Suave Drive.

EPCSO said Beltran refused to comply with exit commands and deputies were granted consent to enter the home. Beltran was found hiding inside and taken into custody.

Deputies found cocaine in his wallet while investigating. He was booked into the county detention facility with an $8,000 bond.
