Cesar Chavez Elementary in Las Cruces closed as LCPS virus cases reach 16
LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- School officials announced the closure of the Cesar Chavez Elementary School building in far east Las Cruces on Thursday afternoon due to a staff member testing positive for the coronavirus.
That raised the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Las Cruces Public Schools system to 16.
Students have not been exposed as LCPS is doing remote learning through at least December.
