Judge denies bond reduction for man charged in Parkland High threat
UPDATE, Nov. 3: A judge at a court hearing on Wednesday denied a bond reduction for the 23-year-old man accused of making a terroristic threat that placed Parkland High School on lockdown earlier this week.
According to court documents obtained by ABC-7, Pablo Paredes is accused of repeatedly sending threatening and harassing messages to a Parkland student since July of last year, when the girl filed an assault complaint with police.
The latest threatening messages, according to a police affidavit, came Monday morning when Paredes allegedly threatened to harm the girl with a gun and shoot up the school. That student alerted school officials of the threats which prompted the campus to go on lockdown for 5 hours until police arrested Paredes in a far eastside neighborhood - about 15 miles away from the school.
Paredes was initially booked into the El Paso County Jail on $30,000 bond, but the judge rejected a defense request to lower it. He remained in jail on Wednesday night.
UPDATE, Nov. 2: El Paso police on Tuesday afternoon released the mugshot of 23-year-old Pablo Issac Paredes. An affidavit providing more details about the Parkland High School terroristic threat case wasn't immediately available.

Authorities said that threat made Monday morning led to an hours-long lockdown of the school, but fortunately no students were harmed. A motive wasn't disclosed.
UPDATE, Nov. 1: El Paso police said the manhunt for 23-year-old Pablo Issac Paredes came to end when he was taken into custody around 2 p.m. Monday in the 3200 block of Merry Meadows in far east El Paso.
Authorities said the lockdown at Parkland High School in northeast El Paso was being lifted and YISD officials would be making arrangements for the release of students.
ORIGINAL REPORT, Nov. 1: EL PASO, Texas -- Parkland High School in the Ysleta Independent School District was on lockdown Monday morning and remained so into the afternoon.
It came after reports of a man with a gun about 9 a.m.
Although police said they determined there was a "credible threat," they emphasized there were no confirmed reports of any shots fired and YISD officials said all students were safe and accounted for.
Authorities said they were searching the area for 23-year-old Pablo Issac Paredes, who may be armed and is wanted on warrants.
The school is located at 5932 Quail Avenue in northeast El Paso.
El Paso police officers shut down streets surrounding the school as two law enforcement helicopters buzzed overhead, and a group of parents gathered nearby hoping to get information.
Police and school officials urged parents and others to stay far away from the school and search area, calling it a "serious situation."
