El Paso pub that allegedly served woman prior to her 5th drunk driving arrest is cleared in state probe
EL PASO, Texas -- Three Pints Pub in the 10700 block of North Gateway Boulevard has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the case of an El Paso woman who was alleged to have drank there before being arrested for a fifth time for drunk driving after a deadly crash.
"The investigation is concluded," Chris Porter, a spokesman for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission told ABC-7 on Friday. "TABCÂ found no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Three Pints in relation to the fatality on Dec. 23."
Margaret Cantu, 41, allegedly drove drunk from the bar and crashed into a northeast El Paso home a few days before Christmas, killing an 87-year-old woman sleeping in her bed.
Andrew Hayes, the general manager of the pub, said in an email to ABC-7 that "Ms. Cantu was NOT at Three Pints at any point on the day of the incident."
Cantu is facing charges for driving under the influence and intoxication murder.
According to court documents obtained by ABC-7, Cantu already had four previous drunk driving convictions at the time of the deadly crash.
