Guide to Memorial Day weekend things to do in El Paso
EL PASO, Texas -- With Covid-19 cases down and a significant number of El Pasoans vaccinated, this Memorial Day weekend is looking a lot better than last year.
Here's a quick list of El Paso area activities for those seeking to get out and about over the holiday period.
- Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is returning to daily movie screenings at both of its El Paso locations for the Memorial Day weekend.
- Ardovino's Farmers Market in Sunland Park is operating Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. featuring a variety of vendors with farm-fresh foods for sale.
- Camp Cohen Waterpark in northeast El Paso opens Saturday at 11 a.m. for the season with a leisure pool, lap pool, kiddie pool, slides, water playground, lazy river & climbing wall. It will also open at 11 a.m. on Sunday & Monday.
- Chiquis Concert at Speaking Rock on Saturday at 5 p.m. The singer-performer and daughter of the late Jenni Rivera takes the outdoor stage.
- El Paso Chihuahuas are taking on Oklahoma City at Southwest University Park on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings. There will be fireworks at Southwest University Park after both the Saturday and Monday baseball games.
- El Paso Comic Strip features Saturday and Sunday evening stand-up performances at 7:30 p.m. by Sean Grant, recognized as the Funniest College Kid in America by Jimmy Kimmel Live!
- El Paso Zoo will be in operation starting at 9:30 a.m. each day, with numerous exhibits reopening just in time for the Memorial Day weekend.
- Haunted Carnival Daze Art Market on Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. will feature art, food and clowns, according to the organizers at the Kaleidoscope Art Market.
- Paranormal Cirque has multiple performances Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings with this unusual circus that includes illusionists, freaks and mysterious creatures.
- Sierra Providence Events Center launches summertime ice skating just in time for the Memorial Day weekend on afternoons and evenings.
- Wet 'N Wild Waterpark in Anthony will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 29-31 for those looking to enjoy water rides to beat the heat.
