El Paso son & mother undertake community caroling for the holidays

EL PASO, Texas - Joseph Hobdy and his mom share a special kind of bond - their love to sing. For nine years, the duo who call themselves THE 413 EFFECT have shared their songs and holiday spirit at various locations during the holiday season.

“We go out to the community. Instead of going the traditional route like going from neighborhood to neighborhood- and we love that don’t get me wrong- but, we wanted to reach the places that couldn’t be reached, like the assisted living facilities, children's hospitals, and the occasional Chic-Fil-A,” Hobdy shared.

The mother and son duo love to bring joy and happiness to their audiences.

"We just want to be a blessing and an encouragement to people. We know how much it brings a smile to their face- it definitely brings a smile to ours. And we just want to continue to do that, continue to be the light, not just make a difference but be the difference," Hobdy explained.

The pair sing familiar holiday songs, as well as play instruments and dance. THE 413 EFFECT tries to get the audience involved.

“We don’t expect people to just be spectators, we invite them to be participators. We invite the community to literally sing with us,” he said.

Hodby and his mother invite you to join them on their next community event.

“We have a good time man, you guys gotta come out. Just come on out, and you'll see what I'm talking about. We get down! That’s why its called the Winter for Life Jam is here y’all. So yeah, come on out and have a good time with us," he said.
