Power is back on in South Central El Paso after crash

Update: About 1,300 El Paso Electric customers were without power Monday morning, after a car hit a guy-wire at the intersection of Cotton St. and Olive Ave, according to a spokesperson with El Paso Electric.

The call of the crash was reported at 1:04 a.m. the interruption only lasted seven minutes.


EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- At 2 A.M. Monday morning, 1,266 El Paso Electric customers were left without power after police say a car crashed in the South Central area.

The crash happened at the intersection of Olive Ave. and Cotton St. early this morning.

Power was restored before 4:30 A.M. according to El Paso Electric's outage map.

We are working to find out more information on what caused this crash.
