A Ft. Bliss soldier’s death was ruled a suicide 3 years ago. Now investigators say his wife killed him
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The Army Times reports a sergeant at Ft. Bliss is charged with murder in the death of her husband, a fellow Ft. Bliss soldier.
When 29-year-old Sgt. Hector A. Cervantes was found dead on Christmas Day in 2019, investigators believed he had committed suicide. They say he was found with a gunshot wound to the head on post.
Now Cervantes's wife, Sgt. Carmen J. Iron Hawk, is charged with his murder. The Army Times reports that court documents accuse Iron Hawk of shooting a person on-post on December 22, 2019.
Cervantes was a father of three, according to his obituary.
